Bosch Rexroth Indramat's MAC AC Servo Motors series includes the MAC112D-2-FD-4-C/130-A-0/WI520LV/S005. The unit is a motor for analog drives that delivers commanded torque to automated line shafts and indexing tables. It uses frame size 112 with the FD winding and is supplied without a blocking brake, so mechanical holding must be provided externally when power is removed. Axial surface cooling is integrated, and an external 115 V AC blower pushes air along the housing fins to maintain thermal balance during continuous duty. This cooling arrangement helps the motor hold a stable operating temperature during long production runs. The motor is intended for applications that need repeatable speed regulation and consistent torque delivery during cyclic motion.
At standstill, the motor produces 38.0 Nm of continuous torque while drawing 56.0 A, based on a 120-minute thermal time constant. Torque rises linearly with current through a constant of 0.760 Nm/A, which allows predictable load control across the usable current range. For acceleration bursts, the drive may apply up to 260 A to increase short-term output when the application needs faster response. Mechanical alignment uses a 130 mm centering diameter that seats the flange to gearboxes or bell housings. A standard tacho delivers 3 V per 1000 rpm, and its standard quality class supports stable speed feedback.
Dynamic behavior is also influenced by the 0.0230 kg·m² rotor inertia and the overall 59 kg mass, both of which help smooth sudden load reversals at the rated 2000 rpm speed. The electromagnetic circuit has a phase inductance of 1.8 mH and a resistance of 0.110 ohms at 20 °C, which affect current rise time and copper losses in analog amplifiers. Connection hardware follows DIN 6885 with a keyed shaft, and the power cable exits toward side A for straightforward cabinet routing. Position feedback is handled by an incremental encoder in the standard fixture, and the housing depth corresponds to motor length code D. The keyed shaft supports positive torque transmission to couplings or pulleys while keeping the mechanical interface conventional.
