KDA Spindle Drives are modular digital main-spindle drive units designed for CNC machine tools using compatible asynchronous and frameless spindle motors. The series is built for multi-kilowatt spindle applications that require accurate speed regulation, high-resolution feedback, and reliable positioning performance. Drive control, monitoring, and diagnostics are handled by an internal microcomputer that uses precise rotor or spindle position data to support a broad constant-power speed range. KDA drives can perform internal position control through motor feedback and can also work with a separate high-resolution spindle feedback device when the machine requires more precise spindle position or C-axis control. For cabinet installation, the drives are designed for forced cooling, with some versions using a rear heatsink arrangement that transfers much of the heat loss outside the enclosure to reduce internal cabinet temperature. Integration with CNC systems is supported through standard control I/O and optional command interfaces, including analog, parallel digital, and fiber-optic real-time communication. Setup is handled through the drive’s programming and operating interface, with parameter storage and serial transfer support for repeatable commissioning and service.
