The IKS4376 encoder cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the IKS Encoder Cables series. It connects incremental or absolute encoders on servo motors to drive controllers so that position data and auxiliary signals reach the control cabinet with minimal interference. Clean transmission of feedback and auxiliary signals helps the drive process position information consistently during speed and positioning tasks. The preassembled design supports moving machine axes and provides a stable electrical link between motor feedback devices and compatible drive electronics. It is suited to automated equipment where the cable must flex repeatedly without interrupting encoder communication.
The assembly uses bulk cable type INK0448 and a conductor layout of 4x2x0.25 mm² + 2x0.5 mm². The eight signal cores are arranged as four twisted pairs to help reduce electrical noise, while the two larger conductors carry encoder supply and reference lines. On the motor side, the cable uses an M23 12-pin socket, and the cabinet end uses the matching pin version with crimp contacts on both sides for secure connections. Crimp contacts help maintain reliable electrical joints when the cable is exposed to vibration and repeated movement. An outer diameter of 8.8 mm keeps the cable compact for tight routing, and the PUR jacket resists abrasion and oil during machine operation.
For motion applications, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, making it suitable for continuous drag-chain service. That bend life supports use on reciprocating axes and other guided cable paths with frequent travel. The copper cores have a loop resistance of 83.0 ohm/km, which helps keep signal loss within normal encoder tolerances over typical machine lengths. The control conductors are insulated for up to 300 V, covering common encoder supply and control voltages. In moving installations, the minimum bend radius is 7.5 x D, while fixed routing can use a tighter bend without exceeding the cable's limits.
