IKS4375 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKS4375 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKS Encoder Cables series. It links position transducers to drive controllers so motion axes receive absolute or incremental signals without data loss, making the cable an integral component in closed-loop industrial automation. Because it is approved for use in cable drag chains, the design supports conveyors, pick-and-place gantries, and other axes that cycle continuously.

This model is rated for 5 million bending cycles, indicating how many reciprocating strokes it tolerates in dynamic routing before conductor fatigue becomes critical. A static installation can follow a minimum bend radius of 5 × D, while moving cable tracks must observe the larger 7.5 × D radius so insulation and shield layers are not overstressed. The assembly carries an angled keying pattern of 80°/-120°, which aligns the mating halves and helps prevent incorrect encoder pin orientation. Connector A is a circular M23 12-Pin (Socket) that supplies differential signal pairs and auxiliary power in a compact footprint. The cable includes total shield coverage, and the braid-plus-foil construction blocks electromagnetic fields that could corrupt TTL or analog position channels.

At the controller end, a D-Sub 15-Pin (Male) plug is fitted, and its backshell exits the cable at 2 × 45° so wiring can clear panel edges with minimal strain. The outer jacket is Orange (RAL 2003) for quick identification of feedback lines among power conductors, and it is molded from PUR, a material chosen for oil resistance and abrasion tolerance. The conductors are rated for an operating potential of 300 V, matching common encoder supply and signal levels without excess dielectric thickness.
