Bosch Rexroth Indramat supplies the IKS4035 encoder cable within its IKS Encoder Cables series. This preassembled lead links a motor-integrated encoder to a drive controller so that position, velocity, and diagnostic data reach the control loop without loss. By combining signal pairs, supply conductors, and shielding inside a flexible jacket, the product streamlines machine wiring. It is intended for dynamic automation modules such as pick-and-place axes, gantries, and transfer stations where frequent motion and electrical noise immunity are critical for precise servo performance. Its preassembled format also reduces field termination work and helps maintain consistent signal continuity during rapid axis movement.

Mechanical life is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, so the conductors can withstand repeated flexing before fatigue becomes likely. Suitability for drag-chain use confirms that the cable can travel repeatedly in carrier tracks without kinking. The core bundle uses bulk cable type INK0209, and its dielectric layout and conductor stranding support differential encoder signals. An outer diameter of 8.8 mm keeps the bend radius low and eases installation through tight machine paths. Electromagnetic immunity is improved by a total shield that surrounds the cable assembly and attenuates external interference. This shielding helps the control system receive stable feedback signals when nearby power components generate switching noise.

Power and sensor supply reach the encoder through copper conductors sized at 2x1.0 mm², while feedback and control lines rely on 4x(2x0.25 mm²) StC twisted pairs to preserve signal integrity. The jacket material is PUR, which provides abrasion resistance and oil tolerance, and it is molded in RAL 2003 orange for quick identification among adjacent machine cables. Continuous current may be carried until the conductor temperature reaches 80 °C, after which insulation aging increases. D-Sub 15-pin connectors, type INS0760 on the controller side and AEH on the encoder side, are factory installed. Recommended storage spans from -30 °C to +40 °C to protect the polymer sheath from embrittlement and help maintain flexibility before installation.
