IKS4019 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKS4019 cable is a feedback and control link produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKS Encoder Cables series. Designed for servo drive systems, the cable carries incremental or absolute encoder signals alongside auxiliary control lines between a motor-mounted sensor and the drive controller. By maintaining signal integrity over fixed machine lengths, it supports precise position monitoring and closed-loop regulation in automated machining centers, packaging lines, and conveyor modules. This arrangement allows feedback and related control signals to travel through one cable assembly without adding separate wiring runs.

The cable has an Encoder/Control function, so incremental feedback pulses and low-level control voltages share the same sheath. The conductor set uses the REG0013 build code, which sets conductor size, twist pitch, and shielding to reduce crosstalk in electrically noisy cabinets. At the motor end, Connector A is a Circular plug with a Screw Lock coupling, so vibration during axis acceleration does not loosen the interface. This plug has 12 contacts, allowing separate channels for supply, reference, and differential encoder pairs. The PUR jacket provides chemical resistance and remains flexible around tight machine bends.

At the control cabinet interface, Connector B uses a Female insert in a standard D-Sub format. Its shell has 15 positions, matching the encoder channel assignment used by compatible drives and leaving spare poles for vendor-specific signals. This end also uses screw locking to help keep the cable secure when cabinet doors are opened. The assembly supports operating potentials up to 300 V, permitting routing near power conductors when insulation spacing is maintained. The contact layout and locking hardware help maintain a stable electrical connection during machine movement and routine access to the control cabinet.
