IKS0314 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKS0314 is a prefabricated encoder cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKS Encoder Cables series. Supplied as an interconnect between feedback devices and Indramat drives, the cable carries differential position signals while withstanding constant motion in industrial automation axes such as gantries and tool changers. This role lets the drive receive clean feedback data for position and speed control while keeping cable routing compact around moving machine sections.

As a ready-made cable, the assembly arrives cut to length with terminations already crimped, so it can be installed without field assembly. Its conductor set follows the 2x1.0 + 4x2x0.25 mm² layout, so two 1 mm² power cores supply encoder electronics while four twisted signal pairs carry incremental channels and reference pulses. On the motor side, an INS0701 circular connector is molded to the jacket, and the controller end terminates in a D-Sub 15 interface used by compatible feedback modules. Signal conductors are insulated with TPE, a flexible thermoplastic that stays elastic at low temperatures and resists cutting oils. A tinned copper braid around the core reduces electromagnetic interference, and the orange outer jacket makes the cable easy to identify in cable trays and moving carriers.

The electrical group follows the INK0209 core code, matching pin assignments used across the series. At the drive end, the alternate backshell designated INS0761 adds strain relief for repeated acceleration in drag-chain service. The polyurethane sheath identified as PUR provides abrasion resistance and moisture protection while remaining flexible in dynamic loops. Conductors are rated for up to 300 V, which supports stable signal transmission when the cable is routed near other machine wiring. The shielded construction also helps preserve feedback quality in electrically noisy enclosures.
