IKS0305 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKS0305 is an encoder cable engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKS Encoder Cables series. It links motor-mounted position transducers to drive controllers, carrying supply power and returning feedback signals so that motion axes stay synchronized with numerical commands. The model is sized for compact routing in cable chains and control cabinets while maintaining low signal attenuation over standard machine lengths. This arrangement supports accurate feedback transfer in automated equipment where stable position data is needed for speed control, indexing, and repeated axis motion.

Inside the orange sheath, the cable uses two 1.0 mm² conductors for encoder supply and four twisted pairs of 0.25 mm² conductors for differential channels. The outer diameter measures 8.8 mm, which helps balance current capacity with flexible handling in tight routing spaces. A PUR jacket resists abrasion and cutting oils, and the RAL 2003 orange sheath makes the cable easy to identify in dense assemblies. During continuous motion, the cable can be bent to a radius of 10×Ø, while static routing permits a tighter bend radius of 5×Ø. These bend limits help the cable move cleanly through carriers and reduce stress at cabinet entry points and machine transitions.

Electrical insulation is rated for a working potential of 300 V, and the dielectric can withstand a signal test of 500 V. For dynamic tracks, the assembly remains flexible down to -30 °C, and static sections use the same lower temperature limit. Operating temperatures can reach +80 °C during motion and up to +90 °C when the cable is fixed in place. These temperature ranges allow the cable to run through both moving and stationary sections of a machine without reducing jacket flexibility at startup or thermal stability during extended operation.
