The IKS0230 belongs to the IKS Encoder Cables series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It is an encoder feedback cable intended to link position transducers to drive controllers so that motion axes receive precise speed and position data in industrial automation cells. The cable provides a dedicated signal path between motors and control electronics, helping closed-loop systems maintain stable feedback during repetitive machine movement. Its intended role is to carry encoder feedback and auxiliary supply conductors in one assembly, which reduces loose wiring between matched components.
The mechanical flex performance reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles, supporting continuous-motion applications such as cable chains. Under dynamic routing, the minimum bend radius is 7.5xD, while a stationary installation may be curved to 5xD; these radii help prevent conductor fatigue. A maximum outer diameter of 7.6 mm keeps the cable compact so it can be threaded through tight machine passages. The conductor bundle is derived from bulk cable type INK0750, so the internal layering, drain wire placement, and insulation dimensions match that cable type. A total shield surrounds the pair groups to reduce electromagnetic interference on encoder signals, and the jacket color is RAL 2003 orange for easier visual identification inside machine assemblies.
Factory-crimped interface hardware is supplied: connector 1 is INS0753 and connector 2 is INS0756, allowing direct mating with Rexroth encoder sockets without field wiring. Two twisted-pair groups carry differential signals using a control-wire cross-section of 2×(2×0.25 mm²), while power for the sensing electronics is delivered through a supply-wire cross-section of 2×0.5 mm². This layout separates feedback transmission from the auxiliary supply used by the encoder. The jacket material is PUR, which resists oils and cutting fluids that are common near machine tools. Copper conductors can operate up to 80 °C, so thermal limits inside closed drag-chain cavities are not exceeded during normal duty cycles.
