The IKG4176 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is a dedicated motor lead that combines power and auxiliary control cores in a single jacket so a drive controller can energize and monitor an asynchronous or synchronous servo without separate harnesses. In automated machinery, this type of hybrid cable simplifies routing through drag chains, preserves panel space, and helps maintain electromagnetic compatibility by grouping conductors under one shielded sheath. The combined layout also reduces the number of separate cable runs between the drive and motor, which helps keep moving assemblies less crowded.
The four copper conductors that deliver motor current have a cross-section of 10.0 mm², arranged as 4 (3 + PE) to include a protective earth. Two pairs of smaller cores provide brake or sensor supply lines and are sized at 2x1.0 mm² + 2x1.5 mm². All cores are gathered under a PUR jacket whose outside diameter measures 22.2 mm, giving the assembly enough wall thickness to resist abrasion while remaining flexible. Power insulation levels allow continuous operation on up to 600 V AC, matching the output range of common industrial inverters. A total shield made of tinned copper braiding encloses the bundle to reduce radiated noise and limit bearing currents in high-frequency drive systems. This shielding also helps the cable operate cleanly when it is routed near other powered components inside the machine.
Mechanical design favors dynamic applications: the minimum static bend radius is 5 × D, while the moving radius requirement increases to 7.5 × D so conductors are not overstressed during rapid motion cycles. Laboratory testing confirms endurance for 5 million flex cycles, which supports long service life inside cable carriers on pick-and-place gantries or transfer lines. Thermally, the insulation maintains dielectric strength up to +90 °C, enabling installation in cabinets or machine frames where elevated ambient heat is expected. An orange RAL 2003 outer color ensures quick identification as energized motor wiring within multi-cable bundles. The jacket color also makes the cable easier to distinguish from nearby feedback and control wiring during routing.
