IKG4173 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4173 motor power cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is engineered to transmit drive current and auxiliary control signals between servo drives and motors in automated machinery, supporting synchronized motion axes, energy-supply tracks, and fixed cabinet runs in industrial automation. By combining power conductors with integrated auxiliary cores, the cable simplifies wiring inside assembly lines and minimizes installation time.

Power is carried by a conductor set with a cross-section of 25.0 mm², a size selected to keep voltage drop low over long distances and to accommodate peak motor currents. An auxiliary pair rated at 1.5 mm² is embedded for brake release or sensor feeds, eliminating separate control wiring. The stranded copper complies with EN 60228 Class 6, meaning the individual wires are extra-fine and support repeated flexing without strand breakage. At 20 °C, loop resistance measures 0.78 ?/km, which helps control thermal rise as duty cycles increase. Overall cable outside diameter is 29.8 mm, a figure relevant when routing through glands or conduits. Under fixed installation the minimum bending radius equals 5 × D, while dynamic runs require 7.5 × D, ensuring insulation integrity during movement.

The insulation system uses a low-capacitance design that limits line-to-shield loading to 1.1 nF/m, reducing electrical coupling in high-frequency switching environments. Its outer sheath is molded from PUR that is adhesion-free and matte, so it slides easily inside drag chains and resists cutting oils. For clear identification on the plant floor the jacket is colored RAL 2003 orange. The construction has been validated for 5 million bending cycles and is suitable for drag-chain applications, and its halogen-free compound meets fire safety policies. Bending radii and conductor flexibility let the cable tolerate continuous acceleration in pick-and-place robots without conductor fatigue.
