The IKG4172 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for use within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. As a dedicated interconnect for servo or induction motors, it supplies three-phase power and auxiliary services between the drive controller and the machine actuator, enabling energy transfer without adding signal distortion or excess thermal rise in industrial automation cells. External mechanical protection is provided by a PUR outer jacket, and this polyurethane sheath resists mineral oils, coolants, and abrasion in moving cable chain applications.

The cable core is arranged as 4x16 mm² + 4x1.5 mm², meaning four power conductors with a 16 mm² copper cross-section are paired with four smaller auxiliaries for temperature sensors or brakes. The primary conductors individually measure 16.0 mm², a size that limits resistive losses and allows high continuous current over moderate lengths. Each auxiliary line is rated at 1.5 mm², which is adequate for low-level control circuits while keeping the overall diameter compact. Visual identification on the factory floor is simplified by the jacket's standardized RAL 2003 orange color code, which distinguishes power cabling from signal or pneumatic lines.

For fixed routing, the minimum bend radius is 5 x D, so the cable can be clamped along tight panel corners without conductor fatigue, while in continuously flexing drag-chain layouts the radius must increase to 7.5 x D to protect insulation layers from shear stress. Life cycle endurance is rated for 5,000,000 reciprocating bending cycles, supporting high-duty packaging, pick-and-place, or gantry axes. Ground continuity is handled by a PE conductor colored GNYE, offering a clear earth reference that meets standard industrial wiring conventions and facilitates quick verification during maintenance.
