IKG4168 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4168 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It transfers three-phase power and auxiliary signals between drives and servo motors in industrial automation cells, combining high-current supply cores with support conductors inside one flexible jacket. This integration shortens wiring runs through cable carriers and cabinets while preserving the isolation needed for reliable control and braking circuits. The combined layout also reduces the need for separate parallel cable runs, which helps keep moving harnesses more compact on multi-axis equipment.

The cable has an outer diameter of 22.2 mm, a size that balances current capacity with drag-chain flexibility. Its main supply section contains 4 × 10.0 mm² copper conductors that carry motor phase current and protective-earth current. For control tasks, a separate bundle of 2 × 1.0 mm² + 2 × 1.5 mm² wires supports brake release, temperature sensing, or encoder voltage. All cores use an insulation system rated for up to 300/500 V, allowing the assembly to operate on common low-voltage motor supplies. Electrical losses over distance are limited by a conductor resistance of 1.91 ?/km, which helps maintain stable voltage at the motor terminals on long machine axes.

The cable is rated for a service life of 5,000,000 drag-chain bending cycles, and the minimum moving bend radius is 7.5 × D. In fixed routing, the bend radius can be reduced to 5 × D without placing unnecessary stress on the cores. A tough, halogen-free PUR outer sheath protects the bundle from cutting oils and abrasion, and its orange jacket color helps with visual tracing in crowded cable trays. Thermal ratings allow continuous conductor temperatures of 90 °C when stationary and 80 °C during motion, so the cable remains stable near motors and drives that dissipate moderate heat during repeated axis travel.
