The IKG4138 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is engineered to transmit drive current and auxiliary control signals between a servo controller and its motor in modular automation cells, while also withstanding constant motion inside cable tracks. By combining finely stranded conductors with abrasion-resistant insulation, the cable maintains stable electrical characteristics under repeated flexing, making it suitable for gantries, pick-and-place axes, and other high-duty-cycle machinery.

In dynamic carriers, the IKG4138 endures 5,000,000 bending cycles, showing its resistance to repeated articulation before mechanical fatigue appears. With a 12.0 mm outer diameter, the cable fits compact energy chains while still accommodating three power cores and segregated signal pairs. In fixed routing, the cable requires only a 5 x D minimum bend radius, so installation inside tight cabinets is possible without overstressing the conductors. The power conductors use a 1.0 mm² cross-section, providing adequate ampacity for low-power servo axes, and each copper strand has a 19.5 ?/km conductor resistance at 20 °C, which helps limit voltage drop over extended distances.

The cable's electrical behavior is also influenced by a 0.6 nF/m discharge capacity, which keeps capacitive load on the drive within allowable limits for high-frequency PWM outputs. A matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket shields the bundle from cutting oils and drag-chain abrasion while reducing stick-slip inside guides. For power transmission, the insulation system is rated to 300/500 V, allowing the cable to serve single-phase and three-phase motors within that voltage class. Because it is suitable for cable drag chains, the cable can support continuous linear or torsional motion without additional strain-relief hardware.
