IKG4137 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4137 is a flexible motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. In automated machinery, it links servo drives to their motors, carrying motor power and auxiliary conductors while tolerating repetitive motion inside cable tracks. Its mechanical design targets dynamic applications such as pick-and-place axes, gantry systems, and palletizers, where continuous flexing places high demands on electrical integrity and mechanical fatigue life.

The cable endures 5 million bending cycles, so it can move with drag chains for long service intervals without conductor breakage. A nominal outer diameter of 14.8 mm allows routing through standard energy-chain separators and control-cabinet glands. Each power core has a cross-section of 2.5 mm², providing current capacity appropriate for mid-frame servomotors while limiting voltage drop across typical machine lengths. Copper resistance at 20 °C is 7.98 ?/km, and this value helps estimate line losses and heat generation under continuous load. Low mutual capacitance of 0.7 nF/m minimizes reactive current, which is beneficial when the drive uses high-frequency PWM switching. The PUR outer jacket, colored RAL 2003 orange, resists mineral oils and abrasion, and the cable is suitable for drag-chain use.

The insulation system supports a maximum conductor temperature of 90 °C in fixed routing, while dynamic movement is limited to 80 °C to help prevent thermal fatigue of the elastomeric jacket. Electrical ratings are split between the power conductors at 600 V AC and the embedded control pairs at 300 V, so a single cable can serve motor windings and auxiliary circuits without separate runs. This arrangement reduces panel wiring density and simplifies chain layout. Oil-resistant PUR maintains dielectric strength under coolant exposure, and the bright orange jacket helps with quick visual identification.
