The IKG4103 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for linking frequency inverters to servo motors in industrial automation lines, supplying phase power together with low-level control pairs through a single, shielded jacket. The design supports continuously moving applications in cable chains and articulated robot arms where repeated flexing and tight routing are routine. This combined cable layout helps keep moving-axis wiring organized and reduces the need for separate parallel cable runs.
Inside the cable, three phases and protective earth are routed with 4x 6.0 mm² copper conductors, a cross-section that balances current capacity with manageable diameter. These cores can be energized at a maximum system rating of 300/500 V, making the assembly compatible with low-voltage servo drives used on machine tools and packaging lines. Voltage loss along extended tracks is limited by a conductor resistance of only 3.30 ?/km, helping drives maintain torque during peak load. When the cable is installed in continuously moving carriers, a minimum dynamic bend of 7.5 × D helps prevent internal strand fatigue, while tighter loops are permissible in fixed routing. External protection is supplied by a PUR (adhesion-free, matte) sheath that offers abrasion resistance and rejects coolant residue. Even with these layers, the overall bundle width remains a compact 18.5 mm, easing passage through drag-chain dividers and cabinet glands. The jacket also supports smooth movement through guides where sticking and surface drag can shorten cable life.
The cable remains suitable for storage and installation across a temperature range of -30 to +40 °C, matching typical warehouse and factory floor conditions. During operation, conductor insulation tolerates continuous temperatures up to +80/+90 °C for flexing and fixed use, so the cable remains stable even when routed near motors and braking resistors. The sheath uses a high-visibility Orange (RAL 2003) finish that makes motor power wiring easier to distinguish from nearby signal and utility cables inside machine enclosures and drag chains. This color choice also helps keep cable paths visually clear in crowded equipment layouts.
