IKG4070 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4070 is a flexible motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It serves as the primary power and control link between an Indramat drive controller and a synchronous servo motor in moving machine axes. The cable is intended for continuous-motion installations such as cable chains, where stable conductor arrangement and durable insulation help reduce wear during repeated travel. Its design also helps maintain reliable power transfer and signal separation along long routed paths inside automated equipment.

Its three power conductors have a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm², which helps limit voltage drop while keeping the cable manageable in motion systems. A separate pair for control or brake-release signals is sized at 0.75 mm², allowing low-current switching without adding unnecessary stiffness. Signal integrity is supported by a total shield wrapped around all cores to reduce radiated interference near adjacent wiring. The outer jacket uses PUR (adhesion-free, matte), which resists abrasion and common industrial fluids during repeated flexing. Its RAL 2003 (orange) color makes the cable easy to identify inside cabinets, along machine frames, and in energy-chain runs where several cable types are routed together.

The cable is rated for a service life of 5,000,000 bending cycles when installation follows the minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D. During movement, it remains suitable for ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +40 °C, which supports operation through normal seasonal changes in indoor industrial spaces. These limits help the cable remain flexible without placing excessive stress on the jacket or conductor bundle during travel.
