The IKG4018 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It routes three-phase energy and auxiliary signals between drive controllers and synchronous motors in automated machinery. Its combined power and auxiliary conductors let one cable serve moving motor assemblies without separate parallel runs. By integrating power cores with twisted control pairs, the cable supports coordinated motion profiles while withstanding constant movement in cable tracks. The design targets high-cycle plant layouts such as gantries, pick-and-place axes, and packaging lines.
This cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, indicating the number of reciprocating motions it can endure before mechanical fatigue becomes critical. When installed in a fixed position, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D, while dynamic routing in cable chains requires 7.5 × D. These ratios help reduce conductor strain during repeated travel. The core set uses a 4x1.0 + 2x(2x0.75) mm² layout, so four power conductors share the sheath with two shielded auxiliary pairs. A low capacitive load of 0.6 nF/m reduces reactive current in long runs. Orange PUR jacketing in RAL 2003 is adhesion-free and matte, allowing smooth sliding inside drag chains and resisting cutting fluids. The polyurethane jacket and the internal component set INS0542, INK0653, and INS0622 support repeated motion in drag-chain applications.
The electrical loss along the run is limited by a conductor resistance of 19.5 ?/km, supporting stable voltage at the motor terminals during fast load changes up to a permitted chain acceleration of 10 m/s². For fixed installation, the wire temperature can reach +90 °C when current loading and enclosure ventilation remain within normal operating limits. With a circular outer diameter of 12.0 mm, the cable fits common clamping inserts and gland sizes without excessive compression. Frequent reversing motion subjects the conductors and jacket to repeated flexing during normal servo operation.
