IKG4016 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4016 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. Designed for dynamic machine axes, the assembly carries three-phase supply and auxiliary pairs between a drive controller and its motor. Within industrial automation, it ensures that torque commands generated by the inverter reach the motor terminals with predictable impedance, while the integrated control pairs convey brake or sensor signals and reduce wiring volume in production lines.

The cable has an overall diameter of 12.0 mm, which allows passage through drag-chain dividers without excess slack or crushing. The main power bundle uses four conductors of 4x1.0 mm², giving suitable ampacity for compact servo stages and limiting bending stiffness. Two double-paired signal circuits of 2x(2x0.75 mm²) are arranged outside the power cores so brakes or temperature sensors can share the same route while remaining shielded. Line-to-line capacitance remains at 0.6 nF/m, which minimizes reactive current drawn by the PWM carrier. A DC loop resistance of 19.5 ?/km at 20 °C provides a useful basis for voltage-drop and thermal-rise calculations when cable lengths extend across gantry frames or transfer lines.

A wear-resistant outer sheath of PUR resists coolants and oils common in machining centers, while its orange RAL 2003 color improves visibility during installation and service. The insulation system withstands a continuous phase-to-phase potential of 600 V AC, enabling direct connection to Rexroth drives powered by standard 400 V converters. When fixed in cable ducts, conductor temperature may rise to +90 °C without degrading dielectric strength, which supports enclosure temperatures approaching the stated ambient limit. With a mass of only 0.250 kg/m, the cable keeps moving-axis inertia low so linear drives can maintain high acceleration profiles while staying within servo current limits.
