IKG4009 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4009 cable is a motor power lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to carry drive output to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery, linking servo amplifiers to motor terminals while also providing auxiliary control pairs for brake or sensor circuits. This combined layout reduces the need for separate cable runs between the drive and the motor area. It supports dynamic motion axes where continual flexing and electrical noise suppression are required, delivering balanced power and signal transmission inside drag-chain carriers on assembly lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling gantries.

The conductor set includes four power cores of 4x1.0 mm² for motor power and two twisted control pairs of 2x(2x0.75 mm²) for feedback or brake release signals. This arrangement supports motor supply and low-power auxiliary functions within the same moving cable. At 20 °C, the copper loop has a conductor resistance of 19.5 ?/km, which helps limit voltage drop on long cable runs. The dielectric geometry produces only 0.6 nF/m of discharge capacitance, reducing reactive current drawn from the drive. The cable has a flex life of 5,000,000 bending cycles, so it is suited for high-duty energy chains without early conductor fatigue.

The outer diameter is 12.0 mm, and the cable uses a PUR jacket in RAL 2003 orange for quick identification. This sheath is halogen-free and oil resistant, and the cable can be routed in drag chains without additional guarding. For fixed routing, the minimum bend radius is 5xD, while moving-chain installation requires a larger radius to avoid kinking during repeated travel. Thermal limits reach +90 °C in stationary installations and +80 °C during continuous flexing, allowing placement near motors or in control cabinets where elevated temperatures are common.
