IKG4008 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKG4008 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It supplies three-phase power and auxiliary control leads between Rexroth inverters and servo motors that travel on linear axes, gantries, and pick-and-place heads. The assembly carries motor power and control conductors in one cable, which helps reduce separate cable runs along moving machine axes. By combining finely stranded conductors with a rugged outer jacket, the cable maintains electrical continuity while following fast machine motions. It is intended for installation in moving drag-chain carriers commonly found in multi-axis automation.

For moving applications, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, sustaining repeated flexing without conductor fatigue. Each motion sequence must respect a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, which with the outer diameter of 12.0 mm gives a 90 mm installation guideline. The outer PUR jacket resists oil and abrasion while staying pliable during motion. Power delivery is handled by 1.0 mm² cores insulated for 300/500 V, and signal tasks use a separate 0.75 mm² control pair rated for 300/300 V. The cable is drag-chain rated, so it can be routed through energy tracks on equipment with frequent reciprocating travel.

Line performance is also governed by electrical and thermal limits. Mutual capacitance is 0.6 nF/m, helping reduce reactive current on longer runs. DC resistance of the power cores measures 19.5 ?/km, which helps limit voltage drop across standard machine lengths. The assembly operates in ambient temperatures from -30 °C to 40 °C, and the insulation permits conductor temperatures up to +90 °C when the cable is fixed or 80 °C during continuous flexing. These electrical values help the drive deliver power cleanly to the motor while the cable operates in enclosed machine spaces.
