The IKG0172 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and is part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. This cable delivers drive power from an IndraDrive inverter to a synchronous or asynchronous motor in automated machinery. It is intended for continuously flexing applications and supports dynamic axis groups on gantries, pick-and-place arms, and similar moving assemblies.

Its premolded connectors follow the AEH/RKS + INK0607 system, allowing direct mating to standard Indramat power plugs without field crimping. The conductors are rated for a nominal system voltage of 600/1000 V, so the cable can handle common low-voltage European and North American mains classes. Dielectric strength is verified with a power-core test at 4000 V and a separate signal-pair withstand of 500 V, which helps isolate brake or sensor wires from the high-energy phases. For moving-chain installations, the jacket remains flexible down to -30 °C. During continuous operation, the polymer insulation tolerates ambient motion temperatures up to 60 °C. These values describe the operating range for cables that must follow rapid linear or torsional paths without insulation cracking or conductor fatigue.

When the installation is stationary, the cable's thermal window broadens from -50 °C on cold starts to a continuous limit of 80 °C, covering most indoor and sheltered outdoor cabinets. Mechanical routing rules also change once the run is fixed, because a static sweep can tighten to 6 x cable OD, while dynamic drag-chain segments must observe a clearance of 10 x cable OD to help preserve conductor geometry. These static and flexing limits help the insulation system maintain its dielectric properties, and they also help protect shielding performance at the AEH/RKS interface from torsion or compression during service. The cable uses premolded connectors and insulation ratings that suit both fixed routing and repeated motion.
