The IKG0159 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to connect servo drives to their motors in automated machinery, carrying phase currents and protective earth while tolerating continuous motion inside cable tracks. By combining multi-strand conductors with specialized insulation layers, the cable maintains electrical integrity during high-cycle flexing that is typical of robotic axes and linear modules. This makes it suitable for moving axes where repeated acceleration and deceleration place constant mechanical stress on the cable body.
Its core insulation is formed from TPE, a thermoplastic elastomer that resists cracking under tight bending while preventing conductor migration. Mechanical endurance is rated for 5,000,000 cycles of continuous flexing, allowing long service life in drag-chain layouts. When the installation is static, the conductors can operate up to +80 °C without thermal derating, and dynamic layouts must respect a minimum bending radius of 10 × Cable OD to avoid kinking. The outer jacket uses PUR, giving inherent resistance to industrial oils, coolants, and cut debris. In addition, the compound is halogen-free, oil-resistant, and maintains abrasion resistance for moving carriers.
For cabinet or fixed routing, the cable may be bent to a radius of 6 × Cable OD, which simplifies tight dress-out inside servo enclosures. During cold-start conditions, it remains flexible down to -50 °C, avoiding micro-cracks in the insulation that could trigger creepage faults. The outer sheath is colored Orange (RAL 2003) to denote energized motor power conductors according to plant wiring conventions, improving visual separation from control lines. A dense Tinned Copper Braid beneath the jacket provides electromagnetic shielding so inverter-generated switching edges do not radiate into nearby signal circuits, sustaining compliance with emission limits while preserving feedback accuracy. The shielding layer also helps reduce interference between power wiring and adjacent encoder or control cables in compact machine layouts.
