The IKG0042 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for supplying three-phase power along with auxiliary control pairs to servo motors within industrial automation cells. By combining power and auxiliary conductors in a single flexible jacket, the cable simplifies routing between drive controllers and moving axes while maintaining electrical integrity under continuous motion. Applications include gantries, pick-and-place modules, and tooling carriages where the cable must travel inside energy chains without signal loss.

Inside the PUR outer jacket, the conductor set follows a 4x2.5 + 2x(2x1.0) mm² layout, separating motor phases from paired control cores to minimize crosstalk. The power cores are rated for 300/500 V, so the cable carries typical drive bus voltages without overstress, while a separate 300 V rating applies to the control pair. Direct current loss is limited by a resistance of 7.98 ?/km, reducing heat rise over long runs. The line has a discharge capacitance of only 0.7 nF/m, which helps the inverter maintain sharp voltage edges at high switching frequencies. A braided and foil combination identified as Total Shield surrounds all cores, providing low-impedance grounding that suppresses EMI to neighboring signal cables. The PUR jacket resists oils and coolants, the cable is approved for drag-chain use, and a fixed bend radius of 5 x D supports static installation.

Mechanical service life is supported by a flex endurance of 5 million cycles, allowing repetitive chain movement without conductor fracture. The compact 14.8 mm outside diameter lets multiple cables share narrow troughs, while the flexible routing radius of 7.5 x D helps avoid excessive stress during motion. For stationary portions of a machine, the wire can withstand a conductor temperature up to +90 °C, while moving segments are limited to 80 °C so insulation elasticity is preserved. An orange RAL 2003 jacket improves visibility, and the PUR sheath resists abrasion and weld spatter near automated tooling.
