The 8LVA22.B1030D300-0 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8LVA Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It is designed to deliver closed-loop rotary motion for positioning axes in automated assembly cells, packaging machinery, and material-handling stations. The motor integrates a multi-turn inductive encoder so the drive controller can receive absolute shaft position data without additional reference moves, which helps restore motion after a power interruption. This arrangement supports applications that need stable axis tracking, repeatable positioning, and reliable startup behavior during frequent stop-and-go cycles.

Positioning accuracy reaches ±120 arcsec, allowing repeatable alignment in tasks that demand medium precision. Position feedback is generated by an EnDat 2.2 inductive encoder that resists magnetic stray fields and supports bidirectional communication with the drive. The encoder provides 19/16 bit single-turn and multi-turn resolution, giving fine angular granularity across both local shaft position and extended travel. Power and feedback paths use a separated encoder and power interface, which helps reduce signal interference and keeps routing straightforward inside compact machines. All conductors enter through a built-in double angular connector that can swivel, allowing the cable outlets to be oriented for cleaner harness routing and reduced strain at the motor housing.

A nominal speed of 3000 rpm gives the motor enough range for direct-drive or geared axes that need fast indexing and smooth continuous motion. Thermal control relies on a self-cooling design that uses ambient airflow rather than external blowers or liquid circuits, which keeps the installation simpler where auxiliary cooling is not desired. A permanent-magnet holding brake provides 2.2 Nm of static torque to secure vertical or suspended loads when drive power is removed. The absolute position counter is battery-backed, so stored position information remains available through longer shutdowns and helps the axis return to service without an extra homing sequence.
