The 8LSE84.E1015D200-3 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It functions as a rotary drive element for positioning and velocity control in industrial automation systems, where motion tasks are coordinated through digital servo amplifiers and fieldbus networks. By pairing compact stator windings with permanent-magnet rotor technology, the unit provides dynamic torque response suited for packaging, printing, and material-handling axes.

The motor mounts with a standard flange whose diameter is 240 mm, and the power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel connector to simplify cable routing in tight enclosures. The motor has a liquid-cooled A-side flange, so circulating coolant carries heat away from the windings and allows continuous torque at the rated shaft speed of 1500 rpm. Internally, a three-phase synchronous winding arrangement generates a sinusoidal magnetic field that supports smooth low-speed motion. The motor is supplied in a standard configuration with a quick-lock connector interface for power, signal, and protective-earth conductors, which keeps electrical connections compact at the housing. Mechanical integration is aided by a smooth shaft end, while the mounting flange and Length Code 4 housing fit within the overall 8LSE designation. No oil seal is installed, so additional sealing must be provided if the shaft passes into fluid-filled zones. Product Revision 3 denotes incremental improvements to insulation and winding resin.

An integrated standard holding brake keeps vertical or suspended loads stationary when the drive is disabled. Rotor position feedback is delivered by an optical encoder that supports EnDat 2.1 command sets, yielding absolute resolution of 13/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn data streams. The multi-turn counter tracks up to 4096 revolutions, allowing the controller to recover absolute position after power cycles without homing routines. Connector-based wiring keeps the interface compact, and the absence of an oil seal reduces mechanical drag.
