The 8LSC86.DB020D200-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It is supplied in the standard 8LSC build without reinforced bearings, and it carries revision 3 of the product version. With a mounting flange interface and a smooth shaft end, the motor is intended for direct coupling to driven machinery such as packaging axes or gantry stages where accurate torque delivery and closed-loop position control are required. The design suits servo-driven equipment that needs repeatable motion under varying load conditions.

This motor uses a 240 mm flange dimension, letting it fit frames that follow common IEC sizing and helping the housing seat correctly on mating machine surfaces. Thermal management is handled by a built-in fan assembly, so continuous operation is possible without external air movers. The stator is wound for a rated speed of 2000 rpm, which gives a balance between dynamic response and torque density for medium-inertia loads. Feedback is supplied through an inductive EnDat encoder that uses version 2.2 communication, and the encoder provides 19/12-bit resolution for single-turn and multi-turn operation. Electrical power and feedback lines connect through an angled swivel connector, while the length code 6 housing keeps the overall stack length compact for installations with limited depth and tighter cable routing.

Holding torque at standstill is secured by a standard holding brake, so the motor can remain in position when power is removed or when the axis must stay fixed between motion cycles. The encoder also has a multi-turn capability of 4096 revolutions, which allows absolute position tracking over repeated shaft turns without battery backup and supports applications that need retained position data after shutdown. Because an oil seal is not present, the shaft area should be protected from fluid ingress during installation, especially in machines where splash, coolant, or process contamination may reach the motor face.
