The 8LSA84.E0030D000-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It converts electrical energy into rotational motion for positioning, indexing, or coordinated drive axes in industrial automation. The internal 8LSA code indicates a standard configuration without reinforced bearings, and the motor is built for flange mounting without an oil seal or an integrated holding brake. Because no brake is fitted, static load retention must be provided externally when the drive is de-energized.

The motor reaches a rated speed of 3000 rpm, allowing rapid movement while staying within common servo inverter operating ranges. A 240 mm square flange provides mechanical stiffness so the frame can support higher shaft power without excessive deflection. Position feedback uses an optical EnDat sensor that communicates through the EnDat protocol. Its data format is listed as 13/0 bits for single-turn and multi-turn counts, allowing detailed angular reporting to the controller. The encoder electronics use revision 2.1. Electrical termination is made through a keyed connector on the stator housing, and the cable exit is angled to reduce the required installation height.

The connection exits the housing on an angled swivel interface so the cable can be routed along machine members instead of straight back. Heat is removed by self-cooling with free circulation, so no external blower or liquid jacket is required. The motor has a smooth shaft end for couplings or pulleys that mount with friction hubs rather than keyed interfaces. The encoder provides only single-turn rotor position data, so any absolute multi-turn reference must come from the motion controller. Length code 4 identifies the active stack height used for the continuous torque curve.
