The 8LSA75.D1022D200-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B & R Automation as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It serves as a rotary prime mover in industrial automation, supplying controlled torque and speed to servo axes that require precise position feedback. The unit follows the 8LSA configuration, which uses standard bearings without reinforcement, and it attaches to machinery through a mounting flange for quick integration. In servo systems, the motor works with a matched drive to maintain commanded speed and position under changing load. This arrangement supports coordinated motion in transfer systems, indexing mechanisms, and other automated machine axes.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 2200 rpm, providing a balance between dynamic response and continuous duty capability. A flange diameter of 190 mm sets the mounting interface on the machine and helps determine the available installation space around the motor body. Position data is generated by an Optical EnDat encoder, and communication uses EnDat version 2.2 for synchronous serial transfer of real-time position and diagnostic data to the drive. Inside the encoder, resolution is divided into 25/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn measurements, which improves motion granularity during incremental moves and homing cycles. The digital feedback path helps the controller monitor rotor position continuously during startup, motion, and stopping. The selected stator length supports the motor's output characteristics for steady servo operation.
Additional feedback depth comes from a multi-turn counter capable of 4096 revs, so power-off moves can be tracked without external batteries. Thermal stability is maintained through self-cooling with free air circulation, so no forced ventilation is required. Power and feedback conductors exit through an angled connection using a swivel connector, which helps reduce cable bend stress in compact spaces and supports flexible routing near the motor. A standard holding brake secures the shaft when the inverter is disabled, and the smooth shaft end eases coupling to gearboxes or pulleys. Battery-free position retention helps preserve motion reference information after unpowered movement. The motor has no oil seal, so it is better suited to clean, dry environments where leakage control is not required.
