The 8LSA74.E0022D600-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. This 8LSA variant is intended for servo axes that require precise velocity and position control in automated cells, packaging machines, and material-handling stations. In these applications, the motor works with a servo drive to convert commanded current into controlled rotary motion. This makes it suitable for coordinated motion in compact machine layouts. Its standard 8LSA configuration uses conventional bearings without additional reinforcement, and the integral mounting flange allows direct attachment to machine frames.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 2200 rpm, so drive controllers can deliver moderate mechanical output without overspeeding typical load couplings. A flange circle of 190 mm sets the footprint for mechanical integration and aligns with IEC mounting patterns. Position feedback is provided through an optical EnDat encoder that conforms to version 2.1, and this digital interface supplies absolute position data to the drive with low latency. This arrangement supports accurate homing and stable speed regulation during indexed movement. The sensor reports single-turn information with a native resolution of 13/0 bits and does not include multiturn memory. Heat generated in the stator is removed internally, so external blowers or liquid cooling lines are not required.
Cable routing is simplified by the power and feedback connector, which exits in an angled swivel orientation and helps prevent sharp bends inside tight cabinets. The housing uses self-cooling with free air circulation, and an internal oil seal keeps lubricant from migrating along the shaft toward the feedback head. A smooth shaft end supports backlash-free couplings, while the absence of a holding brake reduces inertial mass for dynamic start-stop cycles. Length code 4 indicates a mid-range active stack depth that balances torque production with compact overall size. Installation uses the supplied mounting flange and standard connector set, so the motor connects through mating hybrid cables.
