The 8LSA66.EB022D300-1 belongs to the 8LS Synchronous Motors series from B&R Automation. Inside a motion system, the unit mounts directly to a flange and transmits torque through a keyed shaft end, which supports compact drivetrain layouts. This arrangement helps the motor fit tightly integrated axis designs where accurate rotary motion must be delivered without unnecessary mechanical bulk.

The motor reaches a rated speed of 2200 rpm, which is the nominal operating speed for continuous torque when the drive supplies rated current. Heat is removed by self-cooling with free air circulation, so no forced ventilation hardware is needed for normal operation. A flange dimension of 190 mm provides the mounting face for rigid attachment to the machine structure, while an angled swivel connector helps route cables in confined spaces. Position feedback is provided by an Inductive EnDat encoder, allowing the controller to read absolute rotor position at power-up. The feedback system uses EnDat 2.1 communication for bidirectional data exchange between the encoder and the drive.

The encoder has multi-turn capability for 4096 revolutions and provides 19/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution for fine position tracking across a wide operating range. A standard holding brake locks the rotor when the axis is disabled, which helps prevent unintended movement on vertical or suspended loads. There is no oil seal, so the shaft area should be kept away from coolant or lubricant splash during operation. The motor follows the 8LSA configuration with a standard bearing set and uses length code 6 for its active stack height. Power and feedback connections enter through a molded connector, and torque is transferred directly to the driven element through the shaft.
