B & R Automation manufactures the 8LSA55.R0030D300-0, a three-phase synchronous motor in the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. In the 8LSA configuration, the motor uses standard bearings and is intended for installations that use flange mounting rather than a foot-mounted base. In factory automation, it drives positioning tables, gantries, and auxiliary axes that require constant torque delivery, coordinated motion, and resolver-based feedback to the machine controller.

The motor reaches a rated speed of 3000 rpm, which is the maximum continuous shaft speed the servo controller may command under nominal load. A flange dimension of 142 mm provides a reference surface for centering the housing to gearboxes or machine frames and helps maintain alignment during acceleration cycles. Rotor position is captured by a resolver, allowing analog sinusoidal feedback that withstands electrical noise and high temperatures. A standard holding brake is mounted at the non-drive end so vertical or indexing axes can remain fixed after power is removed.
