The 8LSA45.E3060D000-0 is built by B & R Automation for applications that demand precise rotary positioning and speed control. It belongs to the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The unit serves as a permanent-magnet servo stage for coordinated motion axes in industrial automation lines, packaging equipment, and pick-and-place gantries. Its design supports controlled acceleration, repeatable motion, and stable speed regulation in axes that must respond quickly to changing commands. That role makes it suitable for machine sections where motion quality affects placement accuracy, cycle timing, and handling consistency.
The motor uses a three-phase synchronous design, so torque is generated by sinusoidal stator currents that stay aligned with the rotor magnetic field. A nominal operating velocity of 6000 rpm allows high axis speed while leaving room for controlled acceleration and deceleration profiles. Heat from copper losses is removed by self-cooling by free circulation, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. Because cooling is passive, the motor can be integrated without separate airflow hardware around the body. The stator mounts to machinery through an IEC flange with an interface diameter of 100 mm, which supports accurate alignment at the machine face. Power and feedback connections are routed through a single multipole connector instead of fixed leads, which keeps cable routing straightforward.
Cables exit the housing through an angled swivel adapter, allowing the plug orientation to be adjusted where installation space is limited. The swivel exit also helps reduce cable strain where the motor is mounted close to guards, frames, or adjacent axes. Length code 5 indicates the lamination stack height used for this motor version within the 8LSA frame. The rotor is supplied without a holding brake, so any static load must be retained by the drive or by an external mechanism when power is removed. A smooth shaft is intended for clamp or shrink-fit couplings and avoids the stress concentration associated with a keyway. The 8LSA configuration uses standard bearings without reinforcement, includes an integrated mounting flange, and does not use an oil seal at the front shaft pass-through.
