B&R Automation's 8LSA45.E1030D300-3 belongs to the 8LS Synchronous Motors series and functions as a three-phase synchronous motor for industrial automation axes. The motor supplies repeatable torque and speed for servo drive systems in material-handling, packaging, and other coordinated motion sequences. Because it is intended for controlled servo operation, it suits axes that need predictable acceleration, stable speed regulation, and repeatable stopping behavior. As part of the 8LSA configuration, it omits reinforced bearings, which keeps mass down while retaining standard mechanical interfaces.
The motor has a flange dimension of 100 mm, length code 5, and a mounting flange for direct bolting to gearboxes or machine frames. This flange arrangement supports accurate alignment to machine plates and other driven components. It maintains a rated speed of 3000 rpm, and rotor position is provided by an Optical EnDat system that uses EnDat 2.1 over a single-cable link. That single-cable arrangement reduces separate feedback wiring at the motor connection point. Thermal management relies on self-cooling through free circulation, so no external blower or liquid circuit is needed. A standard holding brake secures the shaft during power-off events, and the motor is built without an oil seal, so the shaft should remain outside lubricated zones. Product revision 3 is the current release, and power and feedback connections exit through a swivel angled connector for compact routing.
The terminations use an angled swivel orientation, which helps route cables where space around the motor is limited. Encoder resolution is 13/12 bits for the single-turn and multi-turn tracks, and the absolute counting range extends across multi-turn 4096 revs. This feedback arrangement gives the drive fine position data for control together with absolute position information over multiple shaft revolutions. Torque is transmitted through a shaft end with a key, allowing the motor to connect to standard keyed couplings.
