It reaches a rated speed of 2200 rpm, allowing controllers to match linear feed rates without pushing the motor beyond its rated operating speed. Position feedback is supplied by an optical EnDat encoder that operates on version 2.2, giving 25-bit single-turn and 12-bit multi-turn resolution. This allows the drive to detect 33,554,432 discrete shaft positions within one revolution while also tracking additional turns. Power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel connection equipped with a sealed connector, which reduces cable bending stress inside compact cabinets. A smooth shaft simplifies coupling to precision gearheads, while the square mounting face uses a 100 mm flange dimension for repeatable mounting on matching machine interfaces.

A heavy-duty holding brake clamps the rotor when supply power is removed, preventing vertical loads from slipping. Cooling is provided by self-cooling with free circulation, so no external blower or liquid jacket is required. The stator stack uses length code 4, which keeps the motor footprint moderate for the 8LS platform. Because an oil seal is not present, shaft friction remains low, so the installation should be protected from washdown fluids and direct contamination during operation.
