The 8LSA36.R2045D000-3 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It serves as a compact rotary actuator that connects to a servo amplifier so automated machinery can execute accurate positioning, speed, and torque profiles. In closed-loop motion systems, the motor supports coordinated axes in assembly cells, conveyors, and process lines where repeatable speed regulation is important to product quality and cycle timing. This makes it suitable for machines that require quick response during indexing, synchronization, and repeated speed changes across short production cycles.

At a rated speed of 4500 rpm, the rotor can follow high-frequency command profiles while staying within the thermal limits of its self-cooling with free circulation housing. The front face uses a 91.3 mm square dimension and a mounting flange for alignment with gearboxes or machine frames. Power and feedback lines exit through an angled swivel connector, which helps reduce cable strain in tight enclosures and allows flexible cable routing. Electrical termination is handled through a single plug-in connector, and rotary feedback is provided by a resolver, which supplies noise-resistant position data without batteries or optical components.

The mechanical build uses length code 6, which indicates a medium stack length that balances torque output and overall mass for general axis duties. Position repeatability is rated at 6 arcmin, so accuracy at the load is usually influenced more by the coupled transmission than by the motor itself. A smooth shaft supports clamp-style couplings, and the standard 8LSA configuration omits reinforced bearings, an internal oil seal, and a holding brake to keep inertia low. That layout is better suited to applications where external sealing is handled by the driven machine. Because there is no internal brake, any static load must be secured by external clamping or drive torque.
