The 8LSA36.D1022D000-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. In machine tools, packaging lines, and material-handling cells, the unit converts servo drive current into precisely controlled rotary torque for axes that require continuous motion and cyclic positioning. Its standardized mechanical envelope supports integration with ACOPOS drive modules and matching feedback hardware. That makes it suitable for transfer units, feed axes, and rotary stations where motion profiles change throughout the cycle.

At its rated operating point, the rotor reaches 2200 rpm, a speed that suits screw drives and belt-pulley transmissions used on many automated axes. The mounting flange measures 91.3 mm, which helps center the motor on gearboxes or bearing blocks while maintaining a consistent mechanical fit. Feedback comes from an optical EnDat sensor that transmits absolute position data through EnDat 2.2. The encoder provides 25/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution, and its internal counting system stores up to 4096 revs of position history after power is removed. Because the feedback is absolute, the controller can read shaft position immediately at startup instead of relying on a reference move.

Thermal management relies on self-cooling through free air circulation, so the motor does not need forced ventilation in installations with moderate ambient conditions. Power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel interface, and the factory-installed connector helps route cables in tight machine spaces without requiring separate terminal hardware. The output uses a smooth shaft, which is intended for couplings that clamp or press onto the shaft surface. Because the motor is supplied without a brake, any holding function must be provided by the drive or by external mechanical hardware when the axis is at a standstill. The lack of a brake also reduces rotating inertia, which can help when short acceleration times are required.
