The 8LSA35.EB030D900-0 is a rotary servo motor manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It is designed to supply precise rotary motion to automated packaging lines, material-handling gantries, and general machine-tool axes, where synchronized speed and position regulation are required for repeatable process quality. Its servo design supports controlled acceleration and stable speed regulation when paired with a compatible drive. This makes the motor suitable for applications that require repeatable positioning during frequent start-and-stop cycles.

The motor is built as a three-phase synchronous motor, delivering uniform torque from a permanent-magnet rotor. Its nominal operating point is 3000 rpm, giving adequate top speed for direct-drive mid-inertia loads. Heat is removed through self-cooling with free air circulation, so external blowers or liquid loops are unnecessary under normal ambient airflow. A square mounting interface with a 91.3 mm flange dimension mates to standardized machine plates, and the mounting flange works with length code 5 to set the overall stack depth. Position data is generated by an inductive EnDat encoder, while power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel connector that helps reduce cable strain. The keyed shaft end supports rigid coupling, and an oil seal protects the front bearing against light lubricant splash. The motor also uses a standard bearing arrangement for moderate radial loads.

Encoder communication follows EnDat version 2.1 and supplies absolute feedback with 19/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution. The counting circuitry preserves up to multi-turn (4096 revs) of rotation without needing a battery, so stored position data remains available after power cycling. A standard holding brake is integrated to lock the shaft during power-off states on vertical or safety-critical axes. The cable junction uses an angled swivel connector that can be rotated during installation to match cabinet routing, which helps limit bending stress at the connection point.
