The 8LSA35.EA030D200-3 synchronous motor is built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. As a three-phase unit, it converts electrical input into precise mechanical rotation for indexing tables, packaging axes, and other automated stations. When connected to a compatible drive controller, it supports tight velocity and position control, helping automated equipment maintain repeatable motion during start-stop cycles, synchronized transfers, and steady-speed operation. This type of motor is suited to applications that need accurate acceleration, controlled stopping, and consistent positioning from cycle to cycle.

The motor has a rated speed of 3000 rpm, so the rotor can operate at that speed under nominal load without exceeding thermal limits. Mechanical integration is guided by a flange face that measures 91.3 mm across, helping the housing align with compatible gearheads and machine frames. Position feedback comes from an Inductive EnDat encoder that uses protocol version 2.1, and its native resolution is 19/0 bits for single-turn absolute position data. Because multi-turn counting is not enabled, the feedback system reports absolute position within one mechanical revolution. Thermal management relies on self-cooling, with free air circulation over the exterior surface instead of forced ventilation during moderate duty cycles.

The motor includes a standard holding brake to secure the load when power is removed. Its output uses a smooth shaft, which supports backlash-free clamping with external couplings. Power and feedback lines exit through an angled swivel connector, allowing easier cable routing in tight cabinets and reducing cable strain near the motor body. Installation uses a mounting flange, and the standard 8LSA configuration corresponds to a basic build without a reinforced bearing, with length code 5 under product revision 3. An oil seal is not present, so the coupling area should be protected where wash fluids or other process liquids are present.
