The 8LSA34.DB060S200-3 synchronous motor is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for servo axes in industrial automation, the unit provides repeatable torque and velocity control so machine tools, pick-and-place stations, and conveyor sections can follow motion profiles generated by a drive controller. This model carries the 8LSA designation, meaning it uses the standard mechanical layout without reinforced bearings. That arrangement suits general automation duties where compact mounting and accurate response are important. The combination of a compact flange and high nominal speed makes the motor useful where fast positioning and limited mounting space coincide.

Its rated speed reaches 6000 rpm, allowing rapid cycle times when paired with a matched inverter. Rotor position is monitored through an Inductive EnDat sensor that uses version 2.2 of the protocol, and the encoder provides 19/12-bit single-turn and multi-turn resolution for accurate commutation and absolute positioning. For power, signals, and feedback, the motor uses a Single-cable solution, which reduces cabinet wiring and removes the need for separate feedback leads. This arrangement also helps keep cable routing compact in dense machine layouts. Mechanical attachment uses a 91.3 mm square flange, and load holding during power loss is supported by the integrated standard holding brake.

Cooling is provided by self-cooling through free air circulation, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. The encoder also supports multi-turn 4096 revs, allowing absolute position recovery after power cycling without a homing move. A smooth shaft end simplifies coupling with backlash-free clamping hubs, and the absence of an oil seal lowers drag in clean operating areas. This layout is suited to applications that use clamping couplings and do not require shaft sealing at the motor face. The motor is identified as revision 3.
