B&R Automation supplies the 8LSA25.E5060D000-3 as a three-phase synchronous motor within its 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The unit carries the internal designation 8LSA and uses the standard build without reinforced bearings, which reduces rotating mass for rapid positioning tasks and supports quick acceleration changes in light-duty axes. In industrial automation, the motor couples directly to ball screws, timing belts, or gear stages where tightly regulated speed and position are required for pick-and-place gantries, carton formers, or small machining centers. Its form factor is suitable for axes that need fast start-stop behavior and consistent repeatability during short indexing moves.

The rated mechanical speed reaches 6000 rpm, and the motor uses length code 5 to balance torque and inertia across its size. A compact mounting face uses a 58 mm square flange, allowing installation in tight machine layouts and direct attachment to small axis structures. Rotor position is monitored by an optical EnDat encoder that communicates through EnDat version 2.1 and provides 13/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution for accurate control feedback. The feedback device also supports 4096 revolutions of multi-turn tracking, so the control system can retain absolute axis position after power cycling and resume motion with stored position data. These feedback characteristics help the servo drive maintain stable commutation and position control across repeated cycles.

Power and signal leads exit through an angled connection that can swivel, and they terminate at a single connector for straightforward cable routing when space around the motor is limited. Thermal regulation relies on a self-cooling design, so the motor does not require external fans or separate airflow channels inside the machine frame. The shaft is smooth, the mounting interface is a rigid flange, and the motor has no holding brake or oil seal, which reduces drag and keeps the mechanical arrangement simple for clean installations. A swiveling outlet also helps route cables away from adjacent tooling or guards. The motor is built to Revision 3.
