The 8LSA25.D4045D000-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor supplied by B&R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for precise positioning and velocity regulation, the motor forms the electromechanical link between a servo drive and linear or rotary machine elements in packaging, material-handling, and assembly lines. Its compact frame and flange interface allow direct integration into automation cells where low inertia and high dynamic responsiveness are important. It is suited to applications where accurate speed changes and repeatable stopping positions are required across short cycle times.

Mechanical installation uses a mounting flange with a face dimension of 58 mm and a length code of 5, which sets the available stack depth for torque production. Power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel housing and are terminated by a single connector, which helps routing in tight enclosures and around nearby machine structures. The output is a smooth shaft, so torque is transferred through clamp or press-fit couplings. The motor has a standard configuration without a reinforced bearing, so any extra support for higher radial loads must be provided externally. An internal oil seal is not present, and the motor is supplied without a holding brake, so static holding torque must come from the drive amplifier or the machine mechanics.

Thermal management relies on self-cooling with free air circulation, eliminating the need for external fans and permitting operation in sealed machinery frames with unobstructed ambient airflow. Rotor position and speed are captured by an optical EnDat encoder, and the absolute data packet carries 23 single-turn bits and 0 multi-turn bits to the controller. The optical feedback system supports precise commutation and position control during dynamic moves. Because the feedback is single-turn, the controller can identify position within one mechanical revolution after power-up. The motor reaches a rated angular velocity of 4500 rpm, which suits high-speed indexing or spindle applications while remaining within the continuous torque range of the 8LSA architecture.
