The unit converts drive inverter current into controlled rotary motion so that gantries, feeders, or indexing tables can position loads with repeatable speed and angle. Its compact body simplifies multi-axis layouts, and the mechanical interface is intended for direct coupling to gearboxes or pulleys used in automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling cells.

The electrical leads exit through an angled swivel port, allowing strain-relieved routing parallel to machine panels, while a single connector carries power and feedback conductors to the drive. Thermal management relies on self-cooling with free circulation across the stator surface, eliminating auxiliary blowers and reducing panel depth. Rotor position is reported by a resolver, providing analog sine-cosine feedback that tolerates electrical noise and high temperatures. A front face dimension of 91.3 mm standardizes clearance for gearhead or belt hardware. No holding brake is integrated, so static torque must be maintained electrically or by an external clamp, and the missing oil seal limits use to dry environments. Length code 3 corresponds to the active lamination length used for the motor's torque range.

Positioning is affected by a specified backlash of 10 arcmin, which is suitable for pick-and-place registration or light machining tasks. The motor seats against a rigid mounting flange, and drive torque is transferred through a shaft end supplied with a key, minimizing coupling slip. The internal designation 8LSA links the model to preset motion-controller parameter sets and helps avoid feedback scaling errors. Couplings should be rated for the shaft connection, and the inverter should be able to absorb regenerative energy during rapid deceleration or axis holding.
