The 8JSA63.R0023D700-0 is a synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. As a three-phase rotary actuator, it converts controlled electrical power into mechanical rotation that can be coordinated by a drive controller in material-handling stations, packaging cells, or indexing tables. The motor is supplied as a complete 8JS series synchronous motor assembly, allowing integration of high-torque motion without the need for external cooling or separate incremental feedback devices in the surrounding machine layout. This arrangement keeps the package compact for servo axes that need controlled rotation in limited installation space.
The motor delivers a nominal shaft speed of 2250 rpm, enabling moderate-speed positioning while keeping electrical frequency within the common servo inverter range. Heat generated at this operating point is removed through self-cooling, eliminating the need for a separate blower and simplifying cabinet layout. Position feedback is handled by a resolver, and its resolution is limited to 10 angular minutes, which provides rotor angle data through electromagnetic coupling that remains dependable in vibrating equipment. Because the feedback device is built into the motor, the controller can monitor rotor position directly for commutation and speed regulation. With a frame of motor size 6 and a motor length code of 3, the unit fits mid-range power requirements without an excessive footprint. It is shipped without a holding brake, so stationary load retention must be managed by the drive or an external locking device.
Power and feedback conductors exit through an angled swivel connector, allowing cable routing parallel to the motor housing in compact machine frames and reducing rear clearance demands. The housing face is prepared for flange mounting, and a keyed shaft transmits torque to couplings with positive mechanical engagement. An internal oil seal limits lubricant migration along the shaft journal and helps protect internal feedback components from contamination during operation.
