The 8JSA54.E7028D300-0 is a permanent-magnet synchronous motor from B&R Automation built for the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. In industrial automation, it couples with B&R servo drives to furnish controlled torque and velocity to conveyor axes, pick-and-place heads, or packaging spindles. The motor converts three-phase power to mechanical rotation while its integrated optical encoder sends absolute position data to the controller for closed-loop motion. This arrangement supports repeatable indexing and rapid acceleration on axes that need accurate position feedback.

The motor reaches a nominal speed of 2750 rpm, enabling high-cycle operation without additional gearing. Position feedback starts with 2048 lines on the optical disc, and interpolation lets the drive resolve the shaft within ±20 arcsec. With the EnDat 2.1 multi-turn system, the single-turn resolution is 13/12 bits, and absolute counting spans 4096 turns. Heat is removed by the self-cooling aluminum housing, so no external fan is needed. The angled swivel connector directs power and encoder leads at 90 degrees for compact cable routing, and the motor has frame size 5 and length 4, which correspond to its active iron volume. Because the motor has no oil seal, it is better suited to locations without fluid splash.

A mechanical holding brake rated at 14.5 Nm is supplied in the standard design to secure the axis during power-off. The brake helps hold position when electrical power is removed. The motor installs via flange mounting holes on the front face, while the swivel connector keeps overall depth minimal in tightly packed machine layouts. A keyed shaft end delivers slip-free torque to the driven load, and the absence of an oil seal lowers axial friction for frequent start-stop duty. This arrangement keeps the output connection positive while avoiding added drag from a shaft seal.
