B&R Automation builds the 8EI8X8HWT10.0700-1 servo drive for the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive platform. It operates as a multi-axis power stage that converts three-phase mains into regulated motor current through IGBT switching. In an automation cell, it helps close torque and position loops so a machine controller can coordinate several mechanical axes from one compact drive unit. By combining several channels in one device, it can save cabinet space in machines that use coordinated motion. The shared power stage also keeps axis wiring concentrated at one installation point.

The module delivers a continuous output of 8.8 Aeff, allowing moderate-power servomotors to run across normal duty cycles without thermal derating. It accepts an input of 3x 200-480 VAC, so the same hardware can operate on low- or high-voltage factory mains. Because it is a 3-axis module, three independent motor windings can be driven at the same time from one housing. An integrated internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration instead of relying on an external resistor in most applications. For safety, the drive uses hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which removes torque-producing power when a safety input opens and verifies the feedback path.

Cable terminations are simplified by the 2-row connector set, which groups power, signal, and safety conductors on one removable block. The housing supports wall mounting, and the layout favors vertical airflow behind a control cabinet door. The drive ships with a front cover and no plug-in expansion, keeping the external layout straightforward and leaving the front of the unit uncluttered. This fixed module format also helps keep power and control connections organized in compact enclosures. The removable connector block also makes it easier to separate field wiring from the drive during installation or service.
