The 8EI8X8HWS10.0700-1 is a single-axis servo drive manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series and used within the ACOPOS P3 platform. The module converts three-phase mains power into controlled AC for one motor connection, allowing a machine controller to regulate position, speed, or torque on an individual axis. Because it is a single-axis unit, one drive channel is dedicated to one motor rather than being shared across multiple axes. That layout suits machines where each motion path needs its own closed-loop control. Continuous shaft power reaches 4 kW and peaks at 10 kW for rapid indexing.

For electrical operation, the drive accepts an input range of 3× 200-480 VAC at the plant supply and carries 470 µF of DC bus storage to smooth regenerated energy during deceleration. Continuous load conditions are served with 8.8 Aeff, while short duty cycles can draw up to 24 Aeff per motor winding without exceeding thermal limits. The inverter can modulate output up to 598 Hz, which supports motors that require high electrical frequency for elevated speed or precise control behavior. Hardwired STO safety with encoder feedback disables torque when the safety chain opens, and the internal braking resistor dissipates excess bus energy so no external resistor is required. The installed load is rated at 10 kVA, DC inrush is limited by internal circuitry, and nominal operation follows the 50/60 Hz ±4% mains range.

Start-up current is limited to 45 A, which helps reduce nuisance trips on upstream protection during energizing. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, includes a front cover, and measures 66 × 290 × 258.5 mm with a weight of 3.2 kg for wall mounting inside a panel. The compact housing dimensions help preserve panel space around adjacent modules, and the front cover keeps the connection area enclosed during normal cabinet operation. One motor connection is provided through a 2-row terminal set, while the single-row terminal set is omitted to save width in the cabinet. This arrangement keeps the motor wiring concentrated at one connection point.
