B&R Automation manufactures the 8EI4X5MWT10.0600-1 as part of the ACOPOS P3 family in the 8EI Servo Drives series. The unit is a compact servo drive module intended to control multiple motor axes in coordinated industrial automation tasks such as gantries, packaging lines, and electronic camming. It combines control electronics and power conversion in one housing, which reduces the amount of separate hardware required in the cabinet. The drive supplies deterministic torque, speed, and position regulation to connected synchronous or induction motors, supporting tightly synchronized motion across several axes.

The module is delivered in a 3-axis module format, so three motor channels share one common DC link and housing. Each channel can deliver a continuous current of 4.5 Aeff, which is the sustained current rating for continuous operation without derating. Incoming mains may be wired to 3x 200-230 VAC or 1x 110-230 VAC, allowing operation on either single-phase or three-phase supply networks. A factory-installed internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, so an external brake chopper is not required in moderate-inertia applications. For installation, the drive uses wall mounting, and a single-row Connector Set 1 is included for power, feedback, and I/O terminations. Heat sink fins are arranged to support natural or forced convection along the cabinet wall.

Machine safety is addressed through hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, enabling a stop category 0 response without reliance on the fieldbus. A sealed front cover shields the control terminals from incidental contact and dust during operation. Connector Set 2 is not populated, and no plug-in modules are installed. The omitted second connector row keeps the front connection area narrower while preserving access to the installed terminals.
