The 8EI4X5MWS10.0600-1 servo drive is built by B&R Automation as part of the 8EI Servo Drives series. It is supplied as a single-axis module that regulates current, speed, and position for one AC motor in distributed factory cells. By combining power electronics with encoder feedback processing, the unit delivers precise motion control and fits into cabinet rows where compact servo control is required. Internal processing of the feedback signals allows the drive to respond quickly to changes in speed and position during closed-loop operation.

Its continuous phase output is rated at 4.5 Aeff, allowing sustained operation without thermal derating for medium-inertia loads. The input supply can be either 3x 200-230 VAC or 1x 110-230 VAC, so the same hardware can be wired to three-phase factory mains or single-phase service panels. An integrated internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during deceleration and removes the need for an external dump module. Safety is provided through hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which shuts down torque directly at the drive stage. Panel placement is simplified by wall mounting brackets that position the heat sink against cabinet rails, keeping airflow channels clear while a molded front cover shields connectors from debris.

The platform is also available as a 2-axis module or as a three-axis configuration for multi-motor gantries, which allows the same general layout to cover both single-axis and multi-axis motion groups. Wiring is streamlined by the pre-assembled connector set 1 (1-row), and the one-row arrangement helps keep the front interface compact in dense cabinet layouts. The drive has no plug-in module, so bus couplers or additional I/O are handled elsewhere in the control architecture, which keeps the drive footprint unchanged and leaves the base drive hardware focused on motion control.
