B&R Automation manufactures the 8EI4X5HWD10.0500-1 as part of the 8EI Servo Drives series. This unit is a servo drive module intended to convert three-phase supply power into precisely modulated current for synchronous or induction motors, allowing coordinated motion control without separate power stages while maintaining accurate torque and speed regulation. Installed beside other ACOPOS modules, it operates in distributed control networks where rapid torque response and compact cabinet layouts are required for pick-and-place, packaging, and process lines. Its compact format helps preserve space in densely packed control cabinets.

Within the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive family, the device supplies a continuous phase current of 4.5 Aeff, which supports sustained load on each axis. It accepts mains input between 3x 200-480 VAC, so the same hardware can be connected to common industrial supply ranges without conversion. The integrated power electronics are arranged as a 2-axis module, allowing two motors to be driven independently through a single backplane slot. An internal braking resistor is fitted to dissipate regenerative energy during deceleration, removing the need for an external resistor in moderate-inertia systems and simplifying cabinet wiring in regenerative applications.

Machine safety functions are handled by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder monitoring, which opens the power stage and monitors feedback lines to reach SIL-equivalent stop conditions without software intervention. For installation, the housing supports wall mounting on machine frames or standard cabinet panels. A full-length Connector Set 2 (2-row) is preconfigured, while the 1-row connector set is omitted to save space. The module is supplied without a front cover and without a plug-in module in the standard configuration.
